CAME BACK TO ME

I threw the toaster in the bath

I drove the car way too fast

I closed my eyes to cross the road

Ignored the prince and kissed the toad

What was that I left behind?

My innocence or was it pride?

A boy to a man

And a man to a freak

The deaf be heard

And the mute did speak

And endless battle pushing shit uphill

Not employing my free will

I was an arrogant fool sprouting crap

In a temperamental dummy spat

In the big bad city, a small town boy

Having too much fun with big boy toys

I was hoping for a stupid thing

While mining for gold in a rubbish bin

Ever numb I buried my pain

And got no sleep on the runaway train

Needle. Haystack. Forest. Trees.

Myopia is a fools disease

I released the bags and dropped the dread

I took a deep breath and cleared my head

I smelled the coffee and climbed a tree

And then when life came back to me

I found my spunk when I went down south

What stupid things I worried about

No one buys what sells for free

And so thats when I came back to me
