CAN YOU BE YOUR OWN LAW ?

The battle with traffic, the rush to get by

you work hard all day for a spit in the eye

Someone pushes in ahead of the line

thinking that they got the right of design

Ignorance has bred us contempt

we covet the grass growing over the fence

Please put your litter into the bin

why should my world have to pay for your sin?

We all need reminders of the rules of the game

coz we're rude to each other, again and again

Someone pushes in ahead of the line

thinking that they got the right of design

ignorance has bred us contempt

we covet the grass growing over the fence

Grandad said manners make the man

and the older I get I so understand

a small piece of wisdom, I'll share it with you

is that the well worn cliches stem from the truth

I'm happy to say I don't like the new cool

mass produced for the urban fool

I don't need hearing bout no sexting and dick picks

and no bling, guns or knives on a ten year old kid

I don't wanna hurt no-one

I don't hold no grudge and don't carry no gun

I honour my Father and I'm good to my Mum

I always finish the way I begun

Do unto others, the way you like done

is a tried and tested rule of thumb

there's lots to be said about chivalry

and it dead yet, so screw your PC

I don't want a fight but I'm damned if I'll be

drawn down to live in your low frequency

the only sure way to win in the end

is to always be a gentleman

Grandad said manners make the man

and the older I get I so understand

that small piece of wisdom and I'll share it with you

yes those well worn cliches do speak the truth

the only sure way to win in the end

is to always be a Gentleman

I'm saying it now like I said it before

We don't live alone, so can you be your own law?
